Merchant Dental was founded as early as the 1960s. What started off as a small practice has evolved over the past years. With the advent of new technologies We strive to provide for our patients the latest treatment options. Over the past 60 years we’ve gained the trust of patients, their friends, families and hope to welcome and treat generations for the same.
Dr. Gauri Merchant, BDS, MDS.
Dr. Gauri Merchant is the Director of the Department of Oral health and Advanced Dentistry at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre and also runs her private practice. She has experience in the field of dentistry of more than 27 years.
After her BDS, she completed MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the Government Dental College & Hospital. Later, she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Management & Health Care Research from Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Pune in 2005. She was a top ranked student in dental college college and the recipient of several awards for her excellent academic performance. She also completed the IMTEC Implantology course at FDI, Singapore in 2009.
Dr. Gauri is a member of the Indian Dental Association and the Indian Association of Implantologists. She is also a Life Member of Indian Academy of Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry. Additionally, she renders her expertise as a Facilitator in the practice of AIDS Care Group, Chester Philadelphia (West End Medical Group Inc.). She is also currently doing a Fellowship Program in TMD / TMJ, Orofacial Pain, Obstructive Sleep Apnea & Dental Sleep Medicine conducted by Smile USA Academy and Roseman University, College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Avanti Merchant, BDS, MDS.
After finishing her BDS, she graduated at the top of her class in her MDS in the field of Prosthodontics from the DY Patil Dental College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai. In her prosthodontic training, she specialized in full mouth rehabilitation, dental implants, veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, and maxillofacial rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients.
Dr. Avanti has presented several table clinics and research papers at conferences in India. Her research and scholarly articles have also been published in peer-reviewed international journals.
Dr. Avanti is an associate fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). In 2019 she completed a Fellowship Program in TMD / TMJ, Orofacial Pain, Obstructive Sleep Apnea & Dental Sleep Medicine conducted by Smile USA Academy and Roseman University, College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Anand Merchant, BDS.
Dr. Anand completed his BDS from the Government Dental College, Mumbai. He has completed a diploma in Hospital Management and Health Care Research from Symbiosis Institute Pune in 2005. He has been in private practice for the past 27 years and is an honorary consultant at the Bhatia General and Conwest Jain Group of Hospitals.
He has a well developed expertise to perform all routine, esthetic and surgical procedures for which he has attended numerous conferences and lectures. He is also a life member of the Indian Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry and recently successfully completed a training programme with Smile USA in Comprehensive Oral Rehabilitation.
